We played Jess' D&D game Thursday. Investigating how the zombies got through the Inn's defenses led us to find out about some unsavory types that led to a secret passage in the Inn. Finally, finding and confronting the guy that cursed us, Gaul. We tried to get him to get rid of the curse but as it turns out he can't, or won't and at this point we gotta find his boss to get this taken care of. So we killed him.

Friday Jennifer and I went to see the new Scream movie, Scream the 7th. It was okay, but I really wish they hadn't pulled the killers from so far from left field. it's like I would have been okay with it being predictable over the killers not making any damn sense why they chose to go after Sydney and her family.

Saturday was my D&D game and after having the players look over my "job board" listing they actually chose the one I had hoped for. Although it sounds like eventually they want to do ALL of them. After checking with me that there's not gonna be a time penalty for ignoring one over the others, (there isn't) they went with the archeological dig site. They spent a lot of time speaking with vampire npcs that work in the night club they were delivering blood to. It's rabbit blood cause you don't want to waste good drinkable blood on a blood rave.

To their credit they learned a good bit about how things are run on Midnight in regards to the vampire lords and the village folk that tend to get treated like cattle, though things are much different these day then in the olden days as modern vampires treat the villagers with a lot more care and dignity. They also learned about Asphodel, the archeologist working on the digsite and paid her a visit. They spent a good deal of time on the way there also talking to Mikaylus the carriage driver before finally arriving at Asphodel's place. I will give my pcs credit they are methodical about not just charging into this. The rest of the session was talking with Asphodel about what she knew about the attack at the dig site and what threats may still be present and what she hoped to uncover. Way to force me to flush out every npc guys XD

Sunday was a low key day at home. I finally finished Alisa and then spent all of Sunday unlocking every possible costume and finishing the game a second time. Over all it was a pretty great survival horror. I like the multiple possible endings as well as the extra unlockables and new game + mode. The story was abnormal survival horror fare and I really applaud the uniqueness and style this game has over most horror games. I look forward to the sequel.

Monday I met with Stephan for burgers at Fuddruckers. Sadly a good bit of the talk was overshadowed with politics. It's not like we have horrible opposing views that turned into an argument, it's just incredibly depressing these days. Although he's clearly worried more over bigger more broad reaching stuff like the war and economy where as I'm more worried I'll wake up tomorrow and find i've been declared illegal and arrested for changing my name.

After lunch I needed to something to lighten my heart and while looking at the Oriental Gifts (as far as I can tell that's the actual name) store in the mall I found they sell small switch blades! I thought switch blades were illegal and while this is not much more than small pocket knife I am delighted (as is my inner 12 year old) to have a small switch blade. The clicking sound as it pops in and out of the handle is fun and who hasn't wanted one after seeing them in movies all their lives. I was looking it up and apparently they only got banned in the 50s because they were seen as status symbol of juvenile delinquents and making them illegal was used to harass and detain teens. So I guess a lot of states have unbanned them to certain degrees since then.

I also got a cute little paleontology journal and some magic the gathering stuff, ninja turtles of course. Eli and I watched the original Scream together on discord because their white blood cell count was too high to be around people. Sadly I fell asleep before the end, may never know who the real killers were.
