Trying to Focus on the Positive
Boy howdy, this day has already been a shit show but sometimes it's important to remember the good things so I'm just gonna post some good things here.
So I had hot pot with my roommates twice this weekend lol. We were late celebrating the new years and we went on Saturday night to the place closest to our house cause the further restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. Zu Hot Pot is great but it's a little overpriced as you pay for your broth, and each item you want to add to the soup, and there is just one big bowl of broth for the table (which fine that's traditional). While we were decently full and happy with the food it cost us about $115 at the end of the night with tip. I will add I appreciate the ice cream bar and if you have a chance to add peanut sauce to chocolate ice cream at an asian place do it!
Then yesterday we hit I-Grill Korean bbq and hotpot which was our fist choice. I Grill has individual bowls so everyone can get their own broth, and it's all you can eat (in 90minutes) so you just keep ordering more and more ingredients for your soup as much as you want and it's only $25 per person meaning we were overly full and happy and it came to about $90 for the three of us to have much more food. We were all much happier going there but honestly it was a good time at both places.
Also with I-Grill since we went around 3pm and had plenty of time on that side of town we hit Daiso and Cost Plus World Market where I spent way too much on stickers and clearance snacks lol.
Sunday was also great, not only did I get to play D&D with my friends, but I got to have brunch with my favorite daughter Jess. If my other daughters ever see this don't get mad, she makes an effort to spend more time with me XD. We went to SunnySide Up which was a new experience for me. They were packed and we had to wait about 1/2 an hour but it was worth it. I had the biscuits and gravy which they had a very unique crispyness to the biscuits. Normally I would not think to want crispy biscuits but it worked really well with the gravy and was very tasty overall. I also went through all 10-12 tiny creamer cups they left on the table with my cup and a half of coffee, cause I like a little coffee with my cream.
Jess and I then spent some time at Barnes and Nobles and I spent too much money on their clearance section. What can I say, I'm weak. She tried to pull me away but sadly she is a scrawny little child of mine and could not overpower me. Like yeah D&D would have already made Sunday a great day, but she made it that much more special.
Last thing I want to talk about is that the last few days, I've looked in the mirror and absolutely loved the girl looking back at me in the mirror. I wish I can say that was always the case, but I hope I can go forward and remember days like these when I'm not feeling my best, when I'm not happy with who I see. Remember that there are days I do love myself and I gotta keep striving for those. I hope I can have more days like this and continue to love that girl in the mirror cause she deserves it.
Bitch you are a badass necromancer and you deserver to be loved, feared, and respected.
