The ramblings of a sapphic crone
So much since I last updated. So on Thursday last week we had a scary situation at work. Someone who had been banned from the libraries at another of our branches came in and tried to get a card at our branch with a fake name. When he got called out on it he got really violent with us. He tossed everything off the desk, potted plant, plexiglass file holder shattered, the phone, everything except the computers. The whole time spitting at my manager, not reaching her thankfully, and calling all of us "bitches" and "cunts" and saying how he's going to get us. A crowd of patrons gathered around, I think ready to help us if he actually got a hold of us, but eventually he left throwing down another potted plant, a newspaper rack, and damaging our door on the way out. While this is an uncommon occurrence at my library branch I wish I could say it was not a common occurrence in our city. *sigh*
At the very least that night was also my usual Magic night with my girls. Two of them couldn't make it but both my Jess's made it and more than anything I look forward to seeing them the most. I have a five color deck that can manifest two win conditions beyond fighting fairly quickly, and played it for both games and both times it performed spectacularly and beat them both. hehehe. It's both a Maze deck, with Maze's End as a win condition if I get 10 gates on the board and it's a room deck with Marina Vendell as the commander and she helps get Promising Stairs out quickly so I only need 8 unlocked rooms to win.
Friday night I saw Jennifer. She made me her grandma's recipe for "authentic mexican chicken". Her grandma being from Arkansas means this was a casserole and the only spice was crushed doritos. While far from authentic I have to admit, it was a pretty tasty casserole. We also watched Rifftrax's Kingdom of the Spiders with William Shatner playing a massive dick. It was pretty silly and fun.
Saturday I ran my D&D game for some fellow librarians. They are looking for a lost professor and I panicked and when they wanted to talk to faculty I had them talk to Dean Halsey and Professor West in the Necromancy department. After some investigating they found the last known location of the professor and are now dungeon diving upwards as it's a massive upside down frost giant castle. I made the dungeon so that they could do it without triggering any fights but I'm proud I tempted them both into fights with magic loot lol. A javelin of return and a wand of wonders. Sadly we did not make it to the large puzzle prop I made for the end of the dungeon. However it gives me time to maybe make a second prop lol.
Sunday was more mother/daughter time with Jess(goblin). We hit Costco for hotdogs for lunch and did a little shopping there. Then on to Burque Licks where i had a fantastic butter, brown sugar, and green chile ice cream. I almost always get something chocolate peanut butter themed but this time I wanted something a little more adventurous and I'm glad I tried it! I was very hesitant about the green chile but the little bursts of heat with the rich butter brown sugar ice cream was really nice! Going on to Tavern of Souls from there we both managed to grab High Perfect Morcant! They had exactly two copies which meant we got to take a picture of us with our cards to taunt other Jess(bunny). Then we played a couple matches of magic. My poor Liliana deck took a beating once again but I came back at her with Kadira, and Kadira almost never fails me. We had only gotten up to about 8 rabbits or so when I stomped her.
Monday I went with Trash to go see Iron Lung in the theater. Being a Monday just after 1pm we had the place all to ourselves! Also I have to thank Jess(bunny) again for Trash because it's wonderful being able to hug him during some of the really tense parts of the movie. And boy howdy did it get tense! Markiplier plays a convict welded into a sub and forced to explore a sea of blood in the aftermath of the apocalypse. That is such a ridiculous set of circumstances how could it not be good!
I also went to see Dorian on Monday. My precious Dorian. It's always so wonderful to catch and talk with them for hours. Spend time bonding over a scary movie, Room 1408 this time, and have dinner together. Since I know they're anxious about going public places with lots of people I think next time I'm going to try and drag them out with me to the theater if there are any good scary movies playing.
Last night was Magic again. Jess(goblin)(traitor) turned everyone against me and High Perfect Morcant only to win the whole game herself. Honestly Morcant's blight ability wasn't winning me any friends anyway. Me and the girls have also been doing a journal exchange and this time we all got our original journals back so I got to read what everyone else wrote in my journal. Jess(goblin) almost made me cry. She said some kind and wonderful things to me and honestly, I really do wish she was my daughter. I would be so proud to have a kid like her.
I am not immune to elf mommy.
